Two pupils at a Bolton secondary school got stunning grades in their GCSEs. St James CE High School in Farnworth pupils celebrated their results today, August 22 despite the inclement weather. Mya Crossley got a staggering 10 9s and two 8s in her GCSEs , and wants to be an astrophysicist in the future.

She said: “I am very happy. I thought I would do well, but I didn’t think I would do this well. Oliwia and Mya (Image: Newsquest) “I enjoyed the exams, it was very difficult but a time to work hard and improve yourself.



” As well as her normal GCSEs, Mya did two extras - further maths and astronomy. ” Mya (Image: Newsquest) She added: “I want to say thank you to my parents and family for supporting me.” She will go on to study maths, further maths, physics and computer science at Bolton School Sixth Form. For fellow pupil Oliwia Borowiec, it was nine of the best - nine 9s, plus an 8 for good measure.

Oliwia (Image: Newsquest) She said: "I'm doing well, I couldn't be doing much better. I still haven't processed it all. "Most of it was a haze, some went better than others, further maths was really good.

"I'm going to Loreto College in Manchester to study biology, chemistry, maths and history.".
