Gavin & Stacey star Alison Steadman has revealed the scene that convinced her to sign on for the hit TV comedy series. The actor starred as Gavin's neurotic mother Pamela 'Pam' Shipman for all three series and the Christmas special in 2019. She is set to appear in the upcoming and highly-anticipated Christmas special which is currently in production and is set to air on Christmas Day.
Speaking to The Sunday Times Steadman said it was Pam's first scene that convinced her to sign on for the role in 2006. In her first scene Pam is seen lounging on the sofa in the living room as her son Gavin enters their Billericay family home. Pam has cucumber slices on her eyes as she reveals to Gavin that she has been watching a tear jerking programme on the TV.
