Gatwick Airport was thrown into disarray this morning after the discovery of a "suspicious item". Passengers were evacuated from one of the airport's terminals, which resulted in significant flight delays . Sussex Police and explosives specialists are currently handling the incident, which has created chaos for travellers.
A security cordon has been established, and roads near the airport have been closed, exacerbating the disruption. A Gatwick Express spokesperson said: "A large part of the South Terminal has been evacuated as a precaution while we continue to investigate a security incident.
