Gary Neville branded Manchester United's defeat to Tottenham 'absolutely disgusting' - as he slapped down fans who booed referee Chris Kavanagh. United endured a miserable afternoon at Old Trafford on Sunday. They fell behind after just two minutes and 35 seconds, as Micky van de Ven burst forward from defence before setting Brennan Johnson up for a tap-in.

Just before half-time things got even better for the visitors when United skipper Bruno Fernandes was sent off for serious foul play, though that decision was later questioned. Moments into the second-half, Dejan Kulusevski doubled Tottenham's lead in acrobatic fashion as he lifted the ball into the net from Johnson's cross. And Dominic Solanke wrapped up the scoring with 13 minutes left when he slid in Pape Matar Sarr's header from a corner.



Neville was left furious with United's performance, insisting it was one of their worst under boss Erik ten Hag. And the former Red Devils skipper dismissed the boos Kavanagh faced at the final whistle. "The pressure is going to get ramped up this week – it is going to be brutal.

It has been a bad day for Ten Hag, really bad. It's one of the worst performances I have seen under Ten Hag - and that is saying something. It is really bad," he told Sky Sports.
