Prayagraj : Even as funds worth crores of rupees have been spent on various development works at Shringverpur Dham , authorities have turned a blind eye towards the pile of rubbish on the banks of the Ganga . Whether it is the stairs of Shri Ram Ghat or along the approach road towards the ghat, filth and rubbish can be spotted scattered all around, emitting a foul smell. Interestingly, the pathetic condition persists despite the fact that earlier this week, both the district magistrate, Prayagraj Ravindra Mandar, and Kumbh Mela Adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand had visited the place and instructed the authorities to keep the ghats and surroundings clean.

Although the ghats were cleaned owing to visit of the officials, thereafter, things have returned to square one. The situation is such that the devotees, priests, tourists, villagers performing last rites are facing problems due to the filth. Shringverpur Tirtha Kshetra Trust President Arun Dwivedi said that even after spending crores of rupees, basic facilities are not available in Shringverpur Dham.



The devotees and seers are facing problems due to the dirty water from drains and hotels getting mixed in the Ganga. Shringverpur Dham Peethadheeshwar Mahant Shriram Prasad Das Shastri says that the water of the Ganga is changing its colour in Shringverpur Dham. There is so much dirt that water is not available even for ‘Aachman'.

Following the insensitivity of the authorities, the local priests are themselves cleaning the ghats. Shr.
