Gamescom had its opening night presentation today with two hours of announcements, reveals, and gameplay trailers, along with some firmed-up release dates and early project teases. First looks were offered at new entries in franchises like “Borderlands,” “Mafia,” “Sniper Elite,” “Monument Valley,” “Little Nightmares,” “Civilization,” “Monster Hunter,” “The Dark Pictures Anthology” and more. “Goat Simulator” is getting a flash remaster, “Dying Light” is getting a 20-hour standalone new entry with the original’s protagonist Kyle Crane returning, and many titles have locked in 2025 release dates.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” will be set during the early 1990s and will focus on the aftermath of the Cold War along with the early Gulf War. “Civilization VII” and “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2” are both confirmed for February 11th. “Batman: Arkham Shadow” is hitting Meta Quest 3 in October, “Unknown 9: Awakening” hits October 18th, “Path of Exile 2” will hold early access in November, and “Genshin Impact” is coming to Xbox on November 20th.



“Monument Valley 3” will hit December 10th and will be a Netflix exclusive, while the “Starfield” expansion ‘Shattered Space’ is out September 30th, and finally the prequel “Mafia: The Old Country” will reveal more information in December. Here’s a collection of the biggest trailers of the night:.
