The anonymous walker was at Kirkstone Pass, near Ambleside yesterday when they made the shocking discovery . The now-ironic sign sits next to a footpath, in an area also reportedly well-used by campervans.

Fellow disgruntled Brits have shared their similar dismay at the sight, with some slamming “tosser” tourists in the area for having “no respect” for the Lake District’s beauty. The area around the sign was covered with litter The image shows the path and surrounding grass by the sign covered with various pieces of waste and plastic bags, as if a bin has overflowed and its contents deposited. The sign reads: “Our views are incredible.

We need your help to care for them.” It sits in front of a wall, with cottages in the background, making it a difficult spot to simply dump rubbish . Hills are visible in the distance, evidence of the views spoiled by people’s careless behaviour.

The picture was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Welcome to Lake District for incredible views – well that’s what the sign says. “F**king idiotic people who don’t give a sod, there’s no excuse.” It has since received over 400 likes and more than 50 comments from fellow Brits mostly agreeing with the walker’s anger.

One commented: “Our beautiful countryside being destroyed by folks who can’t be bothered to take rubbish home with them. It’s just sad.” A second wrote: “Tossers in both senses of the word.

” A third said: “We don’t go to the Lakes anymore. Used to be pristine. Now too many tourists with no respect for its beauty.

People don’t deserve nature.” Another quipped: “Is it the aftermath of a riot Cumbria style? There’s probably some scattered sheep somewhere too.” Another added: “I’m going to play devil’s advocate here.

.. foxes going to fox.

“I’ve seen bags go out on an evening and by the morning it looks like a riot of litter louts has passed in the night.” Tags furious lake district litter sign views Share Facebook Twitter Pinterest WhatsApp Linkedin Previous article Scots youngsters on their summer holidays spotted hijacking cherry picker lift at Fife high school Next article Family-run dairy farm unveils latest charity sculpture effort – a 45-foot Paddington Bear made entirely out of straw Related Stories Brits slam lack of effort to keep country’s roadsides tidy as clip shows dire state of busy motorway July 22, 2024 Pest control firm launches “litter purge” to tackle UK rodent infestations June 18, 2024 Londoners despair as images emerge of streets littered with dozens of “laughing gas” canisters May 17, 2024 Scots left speechless as shocking video shows Ben Nevis summit shelter trashed and vandalised May 10, 2024 News by Email Email Top Stories Business News Scottish News Top Sports News Sponsored post customers By continuing, you accept the privacy policy About Deadline News Suite 6, Bonnington Bond, 2 Anderson Place, Edinburgh EH6 5NP Tel: 0131 516 3433 Useful Links Agency Terms and Conditions Write for us – guest posting opportunities on Deadline News and more Sponsored Posts T&C News Coverage Photography Video Services Student placement programme Contact Us Change privacy settings Privacy settings history Revoke consents Social Facebook Linkedin Twitter Youtube.
