Nottinghamshire's most cultured and fun attractions will soon battle it out as the county's best venues are crowned. Visit Nottinghamshire, the region's official tourist board, has shortlisted a range of standouts from its tourism , leisure, culture, and hospitality sectors. The body's Tourism Awards celebrate the best pubs, hotels, events spaces, and tourist attractions as well as the people running them.

Some of the places in the running this year include Nottingham city centre pub Canalhouse, restaurant Zaap Thai, Southwell Minster, and Woodborough Hall. The historic hall, which was reopened under new owners in 2022 , has been nominated for four awards - New Tourism Business of the Year, A Taste of Nottingham, B&B and Guest House of the Year and Team of the Year. Director and general manager Jenny Dickie said: "We are all truly honoured to be nominated in these four categories.

"Over the past two years, the Woodborough Hall team has been working incredibly hard to establish the business and to once again, share this beautiful grade II* property with our guests. We couldn’t have achieved this without support from local and regional customers and we have also enjoyed welcoming many guests who have been visiting the area for social events or as tourists. "We really appreciate all the wonderful reviews we have received about the high standards of service and food and these nominations have made all the hard work worthwhile.
