Saturday, November 9, 2024 Greece is becoming a prominent European destination for Indian travelers, according to the latest findings by tourism intelligence provider Mabrian . The insights were unveiled during the World Travel Market (WTM) 2024 in London and emphasize the rising appeal of Greece among Indian tourists. The “India Market Insights: Outbound & Inbound” report, presented at a panel by the Global Travel & Tourism Resilience Council , outlines key factors driving this trend and provides valuable data on Indian travelers’ preferences and perceptions.

Mabrian’s report highlights the vast potential of India’s travel market, which is projected to reach 100 million international trips by 2030. This staggering figure is comparable to the annual visitor numbers for France, making India one of the most significant outbound travel markets globally. According to Carlos Cendra , a spokesperson for Mabrian, this growth represents a unique opportunity for European destinations to tailor their offerings to the needs and preferences of Indian travelers.



“India’s travel market potential is impressive: by 2030, the outbound market could reach 100 million international trips, a figure comparable to the entire annual visitor count of France,” Cendra noted, emphasizing the scale and importance of this market for Europe. Mabrian’s data reveals a significant rise in Indian tourists visiting Greece, with an 18.3 percent year-over-year increase in 2023.
