Dec. 25 won’t be the first time Meredith Thomas will celebrate Christmas this year. The actress feels like she’s already gotten in the spirit multiple times while shooting holly jolly films like “The Merry Gentlemen” and “Make or Bake Christmas.
” The Monadnock Region native has made a name for herself in Hollywood acting in Christmas movies, with supporting roles in films such as “A Christmas in Royal Fashion” (2018) and “A Christmas in Vermont” (2016). These titles — plus “A Royal Christmas Holiday” (2023), “Dognapped: Hound for the Holidays” (2022) and “A Christmas Cruise” (2017) — are among more than 160 credits from different genres on an IMDB page that stretches back to the mid-’90s. A childhood in the spotlight Thomas has been dedicated to the performing arts since the start.
“I just always remember loving to sing and move my body,” she said of what initially drew her to the stage. Born in Keene, Thomas moved to Alaska for seven years, until her family moved back to the Granite State. “The first time I remember wanting to perform .
.. I wanted to sing in the church choir at the Federated Church in Marlborough,” she recalled.
“But then when I really fell in love with performing was at St. Joseph’s.” The 5th- and 6th-graders at the Keene Catholic school that Thomas attended for several years had the opportunity to audition for two plays a year.
“I couldn’t wait to get to 5th grade so I could be in the plays,” she sa.
