The teaser trailer of Jigra was released a few weeks ago and made people aware of the film’s setting and that it deals with the brother-sister bond. Tomorrow, Thursday, September 26, the much-awaited trailer of Jigra will be out. Bollywood Hungama was one of the lucky ones to have got a sneak peek of the 3-minute-1-second long trailer today and it’s sure to enhance the hype for the film.

The trailer is more in the thriller-action zone. The use of the rock song and the nail-biting happenings add to the impact.
Interestingly, some of the shots are repeated from the teaser trailer but now, with the BGM, you’ll see it in a new light. There are a couple of scenes that are memorable. Alia Bhatt falling from the tree and possibly getting grievously injured is terrifying.
The only amusing part of the whole trailer is Alia ordering all the food on the menu in a business class/first class of a flight and hogging it all. And lastly, a slo-mo shot of Alia running down a rooftop with a gun in her hand is exceptional. Vedang Raina gets limited footage but still, he manages to leave a mark.
With the trailer, we get to know that he has two looks in the film. A surprise in the trailer is the casting of Akansha Ranjan Kapoor as the air hostess. She was seen in an impressive role in Vasan Bala’s earlier film Monica O My Darling (2022).
That film had Easter Eggs and Jigra seems to be on the same lines. For instance, the name of the flight, where Alia gulps down food and alcohol, is called ‘Chungking Express’. It’s also the name of a 1994 Hong Kong film and I guess, this is Vasan’s way of giving homage to the Wong Kar-wai classic.
Jigra will be released in cinemas on October 11 and faces competition from the commercial comic caper Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video . However, the trailer of Jigra makes it clear that it’s also a film to watch out for and can work among its target audience. The plot seems solid and most importantly, it has Alia Bhatt in an author-backed role.
She’s an actor who pulls audiences to cinemas and hence, her presence along with a positive word of mouth should make Jigra a hit at the ticket window.
