A new game show inspired by the hit sitcom Friends is set to challenge the most dedicated fans to prove their knowledge of the beloved comedy. The iconic NBC series, which premiered in 1994 and still attracts millions of viewers worldwide, has inspired the creation of Fast Friends, a competition show on HBO's streaming platform Max. A select few fans will have the opportunity to participate in a series of challenges filmed at The Friends Experience: The One in New York City, a 17,000-square-foot replica of the show's most famous sets.
Contestants will compete in trivia games, interactive puzzles and other challenges as they race through the series' apartments and the legendary Central Perk cafe. Production is set to begin this October, although a UK streaming home for the game show has yet to be confirmed. An official synopsis reads: "Fast Friends, a new four-part game show, will take place in the celebrated series' iconic sets in a fast-paced competition event.
" It continues: "From racing through Rachel and Monica's apartment to darting across Joey and Chandler's bachelor pad and grabbing a coffee at Central Perk, fans will re-live their favourite moments while being put to the test with trivia, puzzles, and games that will keep even the most die-hard Friends fans on their toes." "The quickest team will win the title of Ultimate Friends Fan", reports the Express . The news comes nearly a year after the heartbreaking passing of much-loved star Matthew Perry, who played Chandl.
