A Metal and Electronics Recycling Event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug.

28, at Christensen Field, 1730 W. 16th St., in Fremont.

Metal items that will be collected include metal pipe and tubing, vehicle parts, aluminum doors and windows, cast iron sinks and tubs, lawnmowers, clean tin cans, bicycles, barbecue grills and more. All glass, wood and plastic must be removed. For the electronics collection, any working or non-working items will be accepted — new or used — and anything with a cord, battery or motor.

This can include computers, monitors, TVs, printers, keyboards, mice, cell phones, cameras, sound equipment, stereos, tools, appliances and more. All data will be securely erased. Only residential electronics will be accepted; electronics from businesses will not be accepted.

All electronic recycling fees will be paid for through a Walmart Community Grant and the Keep Fremont Beautiful Partners Association, making this a free recycling opportunity..
