The NHS is offering free lung health checks in Farnworth and Kearsley for people aged 55-74 years who have ever smoked. The check helps to find lung cancers at an early stage before you may have symptoms. Invite will be sent in the post or by text.
The free checks are available to people aged 55-74 who are past and current smokers registered at Kearsley Medical Centre, Stonehill Medical Centre, Fig Tree Medical Practice and Farnworth Family Practice Lung cancer causes more deaths than any other cancer in the UK. It is commonly diagnosed too late, due to there often being no symptoms at the earlier stages. Attending a Targeted Lung Health Check can help find issues early, often before symptoms occur.
