Freddie Flintoff has secured a new role as the host of the revived darts game show Bullseye. The late Jim Bowen hosted the original show in the 80s and 90s for 15 years before his exit in 1995. Now, cricket legend Freddie is set to step into the late comedian's shoes for a one-off Christmas special.
It's yet to be seen if the special will lead to a regular series after it airs on ITV later this year. The 45-year-old enthusiastically announced to The Sun : “I love the darts and Bullseye was one of my favourite shows as a kid. “I can't quite believe I'll get to host this Christmas special,” Freddie added before echoing one of the former host's famous catchphrases: "You can't beat a bit of Bully!" This will be Freddie's first TV commission since his recent documentary Field of Dreams following his terrifying crash.
The cricket star and television presenter narrowly escaped death during a horrific accident in December 2022 while filming for Top Gear at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey.
