Nigel Dixon and Damian Bailey, the married duo who featured on Channel 4 's reality show in 2022, have come forward with claims about their "nightmare" stint on television. The owners of the Newholme Hotel in Blackpool, the couple have accused the Channel 4 production team of foul play, alleging that the director was responsible for "stirring up conflict" off-camera. The pair gained fame on the popular B&B contest Four in a Bed last year, competing alongside three other couples: Nyoami and Joe, Liz and Tracey, and Meg and Yvonne.

Their participation was derailed by the Covid-19 pandemic, as filming for their episodes was interrupted, leading to extended gaps between visits to each establishment. Following an enjoyable stay at Nyoami and Joe's establishment in the serene Broomhill, Northumberland, it was Nigel and Damien's chance to play host. After a five-month break, they were thrilled to finally invite their rivals to their Blackpool hotel, which they pride themselves on being "a high-end budget hotel" with "luxury touches.

" But the experience turned out to be more taxing than expected, as they later disclosed, branding their time on the show as a "nightmare". On their website, Nigel and Damian penned a post expressing their discontent, claiming the Channel 4 series director had "deliberately" heightened drama behind the scenes, resulting in a distressing filming ordeal for all involved. "As the day unfolded and we continued filming with the director, however, tensions began to escalate.

His actions seemed deliberately aimed at stirring up conflict between us," they penned, before revealing that the food provided was completely unpalatable. "To make matters worse, the lunch provided was an utter disappointment. Cold, burnt, and barely edible, it was food I wouldn't even have served to my dog," the couple elaborated.

Nigel and Damian further stated: "At that point, we had reached our breaking point. We both voiced our frustrations, threatening to bring the filming to an abrupt halt before the evening drinks." "Liz and Tracey joined our protest, echoing our desire to put an end to this unpleasant ordeal.

" Fortunately, the following day saw a decrease in tension and Nigel and Damian recalled having a more positive experience as filming continued. They admired the breathtaking Scottish landscape as they visited Liz and Tracey's property near Loch Lomond, and Meg and Yvonne's place on the Isle of Arran. However, the couple noted that they felt the crew did not adequately care for them and the other contestants on several occasions, which resulted in Liz and Tracey leaving the show early.

The Mirror have approached Channel 4 for comment. Four In A Bed airs on Channel 4..
