The officials of Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Tara Prasad Mishra, former chief engineer of Roads and Building (Civil) in connection after registering a disproportionate assets case. The development comes a day after a massive raid was conducted on the properties linked to the former chief engineer in Bhubaneswar and other places in the state. The Vigilance sleuths were stunned after finding that Mishra was in possession of disproportionate assets including 10 high-value flats in Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda and 7 costly plots.

Apart from this, 2.555 Kg gold, Diamond 370 grams jewellery, deposits over Rs.2.



70 Crore, cash Rs. 6 Lakhs, 2 Luxurious cars including a Mercedes Benz were detected during the raid on the properties linked to Mishra on Monday. As many as 9 teams of Odisha Vigilance comprising 12 DSPs, 12 Inspectors, 16 ASIs and other supporting staff conducted the search on Mishra’s properties.

The raids were conducted on the strength of search warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. Further investigation in this connection is underway, said Vigilance in a release..
