Lorna Andrews, who is better known as Lorna Luxe in the fashion and influencing world, used to work as an air hostess before switching careers. Drawing from her extensive experience in the skies, she's now dishing out tips that could make your flying experience smoother.

She also debunked the myth about gifting chocolates to the crew for an upgrade, suggesting it's not worth the effort, reports the Mirror . Instead, Lorna recommends a clever seating strategy for those looking to snag an upgrade: "I tell you what is a really good hack, if you're travelling on a full flight with someone else, and you're angling for an upgrade, put yourselves in seats that aren't together.

" Then, at check-in, play up a special occasion: "Then when you get to check in say, 'Oh my god it's our wedding anniversary' or whatever, 'Is there any chance you can put us together? '". Moreover, she explained why it's best to steer clear of plane tea, particularly if you're on an aircraft that's been around for more than 15 years.

While the hot drink may help you relax on the flight, Lorna said it's not the most hygienic. She explained: "It is because those tanks never get cleaned." "Say the aircraft is like 15 years old, I mean, it's up to you but I wouldn't drink it, I wouldn't even do a cup-of-soup.

" Instead, Lorna joked that passengers should "stick to alcohol", when quizzed on the Should I Delete That? podcast.
