A British woman has been found dead at her home in Majorca following a suspected “domestic accident”. The 55-year-old, described locally as a former British Airways stewardess, was discovered by her distraught husband after he returned to the property from a work trip. The woman's partner, also believed to be from the UK, dialled 999 - but emergency responders were tragically unable to save her when they arrived, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Spanish police have since launched an investigation into the expat’s death , but well-placed sources said there was nothing at this stage pointing to it being suspicious. The woman, who has not been named, was discovered lying on the floor of her living room in the town of Soller in the northern part of Majorca yesterday night. Emergency services were called at around 10.
30pm, and arrived on scene with local police. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Civil Guard, which is reporting to a court in the Majorcan capital Palma, but has yet to make any official comment. The exact nature of the suspected “domestic accident” the British woman is said to have suffered has not been outlined, although she is understood to have had a head injury.
She is thought to have moved to Soller several years ago with her husband after taking early retirement. The woman has only been identified locally so far by her initials - E.V.
