The sea-facing mansion of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, located on Rushikonda Hill in Visakhapatnam, has stirred controversy. Built on a 10-acre plot, the mansion includes four large blocks with a construction cost of ₹431 crore. When adding expenses for land, roads, drainage, water supply, and a 100 KV power substation, the total reaches ₹500 crore, though some claim it might exceed ₹600 crore.

The Union Ministry of Environment and Forests approved it on May 19, 2021, for tourism development. The original plan featured seven blocks named after historical kingdoms like Vijayanagara and Kalinga, covering 19,968 square meters within a 61-acre site, with facilities like suite rooms, conference halls, and dining areas.
However, many believe it was meant to serve as Reddy’s residence and office if YSRCP won the 2024 elections, especially with Visakhapatnam eyed as the new capital. #WATCH | Inside visuals of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's sea-facing mansion built on Rushikonda hi.
