New York-based footwear retailer Foot Locker is set to launch in India, over a year after it signed a partnership with Metro Brands and Nykaa in India. Starting October 19, Foot Locker will open its first store with Metro Brands at Select City Walk in Delhi, and start selling online on Nykaa Fashion as well. In November 2023, Foot Locker announced the signing of a long-term licensing agreement with Metro Brands Limited (MBL) and Nykaa Fashion.
Customer-centric programmes such as India’s FLX(TRA) Rewards Program are also part of the brand experience. “Bringing Foot Locker to India, via licensing arrangements with Metro Brands and Nykaa Fashion, is a pivotal milestone in our global expansion. India’s vibrant sneaker culture offers a unique opportunity for Foot Locker to become a leading brand in the market.
With our Foot Locker Reimagined concept, we aim to elevate the sneaker experience by blending innovation and technology in an immersive environment. Together with Metro Brands and Nykaa Fashion, we’re thrilled to inspire and empower Indian sneakerheads to express their individuality and connect with the Heart of Sneakers,” Peter Scaturro, Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning & Growth of Foot Locker, Inc., said in a statement.
A statement from the companies added that Metro Brands and Nykaa Fashion through their licensing arrangements with Foot Locker, will bring closer access to global sneaker and apparel brands like Nike, Jordan Brand, adidas, PUMA, New Balan.
