NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old food vendor in Mumbai was seriously injured when two men attacked him after he refused to give them free ' bhelpuri ', a popular street food . The incident took place at the vendor's shop in Liberty Garden area of Malad on Sunday night. According to the Malad police, the two men demanded free bhelpuri.

When the vendor asked them to pay their previous dues first, they became angry and started abusing him. "The two men got angry and started hurling abuses at him," a Malad police official said on Tuesday. In a fit of rage, one of the accused picked up an iron rod and attacked the vendor.



The vendor suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Following the victim's complaint, the Malad police registered a case against one of the accused. Efforts are underway to apprehend both suspects, added the police.
