Over 65 girls students from a tribal residential school in Rankol village of Dahanu taluka of Palghar district suffered food poisoning early Tuesday. MUMBAI: In the early hours of Tuesday, more than 64 girls from the govt residential school for tribals in Palghar district 's Dahanu taluka suffered from food poisoning . The students had consumed dinner on Monday night, and samples of the food and water served have been sent for testing.

According to district officials, the students are in stable condition and are being monitored in hospitals. Around 2.30 am, approximately 28 students from the residential school in Rankol village experienced nausea and started vomiting.



They were promptly admitted to the govt hospital in Kasa for treatment. While they were being treated, an additional 16 students reported similar symptoms and were admitted to the rural hospital. As more students began to feel unwell, they were transferred to hospitals for observation.

District officials suspect that the food poisoning may have originated from the central kitchen that supplies meals to various govt hostels in the district. Samples of the dinner, which included rice and lentils, served to the students at the Rankol hospital have been sent for testing. Samples of the water have also been sent for testing.

District officials have visited the students in the hospitals, and all students who consumed dinner on Monday night are being tested, regardless of whether they experienced any symptoms or not..
