Prayagraj: As various aviation companies are eagerly waiting for Maha Kumbh , Alliance Air is working towards initiating flights from Prayagraj to Indore and Kolkata. The local office of Alliance in Prayagraj has submitted a comprehensive proposal to its headquarters, advocating for the inauguration of air services to both these cities. The probability of air services from Prayagraj to Indore and Kolkata commencing before the Maha Kumbh is significantly high.

The local office of Alliance is keen on launching the service even before the winter schedule comes into effect. The CM’s office has also dispatched a formal letter to Alliance Air, urging them to initiate the Prayagraj-Indore air service. The main problem for the Prayagraj-Kolkata air service is restriction on night flights.

An official from Alliance Air stated that while permission is being granted for the Prayagraj-Kolkata flight during night hours, landing at night is currently prohibited. The Director of Prayagraj Airport, Kishore Srivastava, mentioned that air services to Indore and Kolkata were operational in the past. However, currently, permission is only granted for aircraft to land and take off from sunrise to sunset.

Due to the limited time available during the day, private airlines are facing challenges in initiating their flights to Bengaluru and New Delhi. As soon as permission is granted for night services, flights will be launched connecting Prayagraj with numerous cities across the nation. During Maha Kumbh, devotees arriving from across the nation and around the globe will have the opportunity to land at Prayagraj Airport by flight even during the late hours of the night.

This will be possible after the central govt giving its in-principal approval for the same. The much important approval was given to the Prayagraj Mela Authority in the meeting chaired by the former cabinet secretary of the Central govt, Rajiv Gauba, last month. Now, preparations for facilitating midnight flight landings would be expedited.
