A flight attendant has listed five things that plane passengers should avoid doing if they don't want to annoy the cabin crew. Flying can sometimes be an unpleasant experience, with busy airports and long queues to contend with, as well as the daunting prospect of stepping through the full-body scanner at security, and that's before you even get on the plane. Once there, depending on our budgets , we often face cramped seating arrangements with little leg-room, with the inevitable ear-popping doing little to ease our sense of claustrophobia.
However, plane travel also comes with certain rules of etiquette, such as not clapping when you land and never going bare-footed during a flight. Perhaps, we should also spare a thought for the hard-working staff who not only have to look after us while we travel but also have to endure our bad behaviour. In fact, there are a few types of people that are especially off-putting for staff, according to Paula Gahan, a 10-year cabin crew veteran who recently shared the list with the Telegraph.
She said: "It’s curious: any food that’s sitting around on an aircraft – even if it’s in a lunchbox – seems to be fair game for passengers. They swoop in and swipe it without a glimmer of shame." Paula recounted an experience on a recent flight from San Francisco , on which a passenger decided to help themselves to her bag of Haribo .
Paula described this type of person as "thirty-something women clad in Lululemon yoga pants" who decide to use.
