In a TikTok video, cabin crew member Destanie explained that while it might be tempting to ditch your footwear, you might regret it. She said: "A lot of people talk about this, but it's the fact that you should not have your shoes off walking around the airplane, and I've always known that airplane floors are gross.
"But I though if you had like a nice pair of thick socks it would be fine to take off your shoes in an airplane. "But it's not. These airplanes are not thoroughly clean, they're just basically like surface clean so these carpets are really disgusting.
