Latest 'oh-my-gosh!' event Life, of course, is a lot of pattern, repetition and routine, interspersed by grand moments you never forget. Maggie Johansen had one of those on Wednesday night. In Chicago for a Planned Parenthood conference, the organization for which she works, Maggie — of Lexington, the 34-year-old daughter of Lexington Mayor Spencer Johansen, a fun-loving adventurer of life — and a few of her mates came up with a crazy idea.

Hey, let’s try to get into the Democratic National Convention. Even crazier: It worked. Maggie Johansen of Lexington said being at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago felt "surreal.

" Showing they were from Planned Parenthood on what was “protecting reproductive freedom” night (“I’m guessing that helped," she said), they got credentials. Next thing you know, they’re up in the seats of United Center. “No way did I ever think I'd be at the DNC!” she says.

“It definitely felt surreal.” Impressions? — A high-energy crowd, says Maggie. — A great speech by Tim Walz, the VP candidate.

(“He seems so normal, down-to-earth, caring, smart, hard-working, empathetic. I’m not sure if there was a dry eye in the building.”) There was one unexpected.

“I wish I had video of everyone reacting when they announced her name," Maggie said. Yes, Oprah. Apparently, very few knew she’d be there.
