Flair Airlines, one of Canada's low-cost carriers, has decided to discontinue its flights to Nashville Airport this year, following the recent tariff imposed between the United States and Canada. In a statement to Simple Flying, Kim Bowie, flair airlines s Director of Communications, confirmed the airline's decision, citing demand as a primary factor. "I can confirm that we’re not returning to Nashville this year.

Our network decisions are based on demand—we focus on providing the lowest fares to the most travellers and adjust our routes accordingly. Where we see strong demand, we deploy our aircraft to serve as many passengers as possible." Tourism impact: 18,000 seats lost in Nashville According to The Hill , Mark Ezell, the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, spoke Monday at a meeting of the Tennessee House Finance, Ways and Means Committee on the possible effects on the local economy of the Flair Airlines route cancellation.



While acknowledging that around 18,000 seats had been lost, Ezell was optimistic that Tennessee's tourist resources would help the state survive the economic downturn.
