Five Sussex restaurants have been honoured in the Good Food Awards for their culinary prowess. Restaurants from across the county have been awarded the Blue Ribbon by the Good Food Awards recognising the best food according to diners. Eateries including fine dining hotels and Indian street food restaurants are among those to take the award for 2024, released earlier this week.

Jamun – West Street, Brighton Jamun in Brighton (Image: Google Street View) Offering their take on Indian street food, Jamun prides itself on its casual fine-dining food including curries, chaat fried dishes and grilled meats and cheeses. Launched in December 2023, the restaurant built on successful sites in Hampshire and is the brainchild of Paresh Biswas. Other highlights on the menu include crispy fried okra and Indochinese dishes such as fried chicken and feta Momo parcels.

Executive head chef Chris Hilton focuses on taking local produce from Sussex and translating it into vibrant seasonal dishes. Celebrating the second win, Chris said: "It's such an honour for our menu and our food to be acknowledged in this way, we enjoy doing what we do and guest feedback matters to us and this means so much to all the team.

” The award comes as Tottington Manor was also honoured in the Good Hotel Awards for its Henfield .
