Greg Hoff has spent decades rolling up his sleeves and making sure Sculpture in the Park brings world-renowned art, camaraderie and crowds of art lovers to Loveland every year. This year, the 40th of the internationally known show, Hoff serves as co-chair with Douglas Donahue. Together, they arranged the set-up of all the facilities including tents, fencing, electrical capability and more, as well as organizing the crews and equipment.
The show is held one weekend each year, this year from Aug. 9-11 in Benson Sculpture Garden, but it impacts Loveland far beyond those few days, bolstering the city’s art collection and creating a unique park for Loveland residents to visit. “The show started as the dream of a small group of artists trying to make a living selling their sculptures,” Hoff wrote in an email.
“And it became a huge success.” The show weekend is 15,000 people all wanting to share in what makes the show great. More art than you will see in any outdoor location in the country.
Artists come from all over the country and some years the show includes artists from other countries as well. Go to the show for your love of art, and enjoy the show for the new friends you are bound to meet. It is very special, the show and garden and the people who make it happen.
It is a one-of-a-kind show and sculpture garden, which has enriched Loveland. Visitors see a beautiful and thoughtful variety of art at the show and as part of the permanent collection in Benson Sculpture Ga.
