One person who has visited wrote on TripAdvisor: "The beer garden really is the stand-out attraction of this pub - grassy, fairly large, and a lovely place to sit in the sun.

The Emerson Arms 32 Church Row, Darlington, Hurworth-on-Tees, DL2 2AQ Located right on the River Tees, The Emerson Arms has a beer garden that backs on to the river. On TripAdvisor, this place has many photos of people enjoying a drink in the sun while looking out on the river.

Possibly one of the most picturesque pubs in outer Darlington - this place is a must-visit, according to those on TripAdvisor. One visit or said: "Best beer garden in the area. Great selection of drinks and the beer garden has a fantastic view over the river tees.

Friendly place and the barmaid was great." The Old Well Inn 21 The Bank, Barnard Castle, DL12 8PH Offering a hotel, pub and restaurant - this place does a lot - but it's also known for its beer garden. Serving food and drink, many people on TripAdvisor have highlighted that you can enjoy both of these outside.

What's better than having some food and drink in the sun? An impressed visitor said on TripAdvisor: "We old came here for a drink as we had recently eaten, but the food looked very tempting so we will return. We got a bench in the beautiful garden out the back and we got served by table service. The garden was like a hidden paradise full of flowers and people enjoying themselves.

" The Copper Mine 26 High Jobs Hill, Crook, DL15 0UL According to its owners: "The Copper Mine is a pub which has a quirky interior and aims to offer food from simple dishes to dishes which any restaurant would be proud to offer." But on top of that - it has a beer garden that people can enjoy a drink in. Located in Crook, people in the garden can enjoy the sun this summer (hopefully) - while enjoying an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink.

A customer who ranked this place as 'excellent' said on TripAdvisor: "We’ve been here a few times, had great two-course meals, and a couple of Sunday lunches, tried an amazing cocktail or two, but today, because the sun was shining, we ate tapas style in the beer garden. The service is always excellent in this place, friendly and efficient, today's visit was no exception.".
