Prayagraj: A shiksha mitra has been booked for inappropriately touching five girl students of class V of Sanviliyan Vishyalaya, Kamasin Kada school under the limits of Saini police station of Kaushambi district on Wednesday. After the parents and guardians of the girls created a ruckus on the school campus on Wednesday, an FIR under section 75 (1) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections 7 and 8 of the Pocso Act was registered against the accused shiksha mitra Rajesh Singh. The officials of the education department have recorded the statements of the girls.
The parents of these girls told the police that Singh not only used to touch them inappropriately but also had vulgar chats with them. Whenever the girls raised objections, he used to apologise. However, he continued the inappropriate behaviour during the class every day.
The girls reported the matter to their parents and guardians. Deputy SP (Sirathu) Awadesh Kumar told TOI that the police have started a probe into the allegations and action would be initiated accordingly. "A team of Saini police reached the on being informed and an FIR under the appropriate section was registered in this regard," he added.
