Thursday, January 23, 2025 FITUR LGBT+ 2025, hosted by FITUR and JN Global Project, has solidified its reputation as the world’s largest LGBTQ+ exhibition space within the tourism sector. This year’s edition, themed “Diversity in Every Destination” , opened its doors at IFEMA MADRID, presenting a dynamic platform for dialogue, collaboration, and celebration of inclusion in global tourism. The inauguration, led by Juan Martín Boll of JN Global Project, gathered notable government representatives and tourism industry leaders, including Arancha Priede from IFEMA MADRID, Miguel Sanz of Turespaña, and Luis Martín Izquierdo from the Community of Madrid.
These leaders underscored the significance of fostering diversity, with Spain maintaining its position as a top-rated LGBTQ+ tourism destination. FITUR LGBT+ has expanded by 30% compared to last year, highlighting a remarkable increase in its influence and scope. Spain remains at the forefront, with the Community of Madrid ranked as Europe’s second most LGBTQ+ friendly region after Berlin.
The event underscores Spain’s commitment to welcoming travelers from diverse backgrounds and promoting equality. During the opening, awards were granted to destinations joining the Spanish Network of Destinations for Diversity (REDD). Honorees included cities such as Ávila, Cullera, Cádiz, and Seville, demonstrating their dedication to fostering inclusion.
