Firefighters tackled a car blaze in the early hours of this morning. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived at Hobbs Recovery Service in Chaucer Business Park, Polegate, at 1.40am on Sunday, October 6.

Fire crews tackled the blaze (Image: Sussex News and Pictures) A spokesman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: "The crew used a hose reel jet, along with breathing apparatus and forcible entry tools, to safely bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby property.
"Hydraulic lifting equipment was also deployed to assist in the firefighting effort. "The fire was successfully extinguished, no casualties were reported, and is under investigation.".
