SHREVEPORT, La. - The Shreveport Fire Department responded to a house fire on Sunday morning in the 9500 block of Palmetto Lane. Crews were dispatched at 7:26 a.

m. after reports of smoke and flames. Engine 17 arrived within four minutes and confirmed visible smoke and flames at the front of the structure.



A total of nine units and 27 firefighters worked to bring the fire under control by 7:45 a.m. The home’s occupants were inside at the time but managed to escape safely.

They were treated on the scene for minor smoke inhalation and later transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. No injuries were reported among Shreveport firefighters..
