A major fire at an Attleborough factory housing gas cylinders and chemicals has shut down train services in the area until further notice. Greater Anglia issued a statement alerting customers that trains going through or to Attleborough will be cancelled, delayed or revised until further notice. Attleborough Town Council have offered refuge to those in the area at the Town Hall.

"We will advise you as soon as the buses are on route. "Passengers travelling to/from Ely, Cambridge from Norwich (in both directions) may travel via Ipswich at no extra cost." Greater Anglia have told customers not to travel between Norwich and Thetford due to the "severe" fire.
