NEW DELHI: Police in Pune have registered a case against Dilip Khedkar , the father of former probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar for allegedly threatening and obstructing a public servant. This case follows a complaint lodged by a tehsildar-rank officer accusing him of undue interference during Puja Khedkar's tenure as assistant collector. Puja Khedkar is currently untraceable after being accused of misrepresenting information on her UPSC Civil Services Examination application.

She has been permanently debarred from all future exams by the Union Public Service Commission. The complaint against Dilip Khedkar was filed at the Bundgarden police station in Pune. According to the details provided, Dilip Khedkar allegedly used threatening language against Tehsildar Dipak Akade.

He demanded a cabin for his daughter despite not having any legitimate administrative influence. This incident reportedly happened in June this year. "The complaint says that during Puja Khedkar's posting as an assistant collector, Dilip Khedkar allegedly used threatening language against tehsildar Dipak Akade, asking him to allot a cabin for his daughter even as he had no right to interfere in the administrative functioning," said an official.

Puja Khedkar, a 2023 batch officer, is facing accusations of misusing her power and privileges by demanding perks and facilities she was not entitled to during her training at the Pune district collectorate. The Union Public Service Commission has canceled her selection and barred her from future exams. "After receiving the complaint from the district administration, we registered a case against Dilip Khedkar under sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of his public functions), 504 (intentional insult), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)," a senior official of the Pune police stated.

In a related matter, Dilip Khedkar, a retired government official, was previously booked in a criminal intimidation case by the Paud police in Pune. This earlier case involves an incident where his wife, Manorama, allegedly brandished a gun at a person in Mulshi over a land dispute. Dilip Khedkar was granted anticipatory bail, while his wife was arrested by Pune rural police and later released on bail by the court.
