BRAINERD — Grab your fuzziest blanket, your warmest socks, your favorite mug and head to the couch. It’s Hallmark season! It’s time to curl up in your coziest pajamas and take in those heartwarming movies with the girl in the red coat, the man in the Christmas sweater and a story that’s sure to end with the kiss. I’ll confess I’ve already watched a few this year, but I swear it was my boyfriend’s suggestion to put one on shortly after Halloween.
Let’s just say he didn’t have to do a whole lot of convincing. ADVERTISEMENT The much-anticipated Countdown to Christmas is well underway, with 41 new movies in the lineup this year. I can already vouch for a couple of them.
“Santa Tell Me,” starring Erin Krakow, had not one, not two, not three, but four — yes FOUR — potential love interests for the leading lady. She’s thrown into a frenzy when a magical letter from Santa tells her she’ll meet her true love by Christmas Eve, but she’ll only have until midnight to figure out who he is before losing him forever. “‘Tis the Season to be Irish” is another new film for the 2024 season, with our main actress Fiona Gubelmann traveling to the Irish coast to flip a quaint little cottage.
What awaits her across the Atlantic is not what she expects, especially after running into the handsome property owner played by Eoin Macken. Ireland is near the top of my travel list, so this movie was a must-see for me, and it did not disappoint, with the charming accents.
