Neighbours have confirmed that Melanie Pearson’s final episode will air next week – and Lucinda Cowden has told Metro about the ‘weirdest thing’ that happened when filming the scenes. The star, 59, confirmed at the beginning of the month that she had been let go at the end of her contract , with her final scenes as zany Mel airing sooner than we thought. Despite being announced as part of the line-up for the upcoming 40th Anniversary Tour in the UK, and Lucinda revealing that she will return for a guest stint in the future, the decision received significant fan backlash.
