Monday, January 20, 2025 General aviation pilots planning to operate near New Orleans between February 6 and 11, 2025, should prepare for temporary flight restrictions (TFRs), specialized air traffic procedures, and additional operational mandates enforced by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for Super Bowl LIX. The FAA will release a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) in January 2025 detailing flight procedures and specific arrival and departure routes for the event. Pilots are encouraged to stay informed through the FAA’s Super Bowl webpage, which will provide regular updates on New Orleans-area airports and airspace guidelines.
To ensure safe and efficient operations during the event, special air traffic procedures will be in effect at the following airports: From February 6 through February 10, a reservation program will regulate aircraft parking at New Orleans-area airports. Pilots should contact Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) at these locations to secure reservations and receive additional guidance.
