A "fascinating" house next to the canal near Foxton Locks has gone on the market for £1.4 million. The house, off Leicester Lane in Great Bowden, near Market Harborough , is on the market with James Sellicks in the town.

In their advert, James Sellicks hailed the location as a "thriving village" in which to make home. The house itself also boasts a "contemporary fashion" design thanks to its current owner. READ MORE: See inside 'luxury' Leicestershire farmhouse on market for £1.

65 million James Sellicks added: "[It] lies adjacent to the canal, leading to Foxton Locks on one side and its own formal, walled gardens and pastureland to the other." On the inside, the estate agents also praised the home's downstairs area, saying it had a "vaulted ceiling with exposed beams" as well as Velux windows and bi-fold doors. These combined, the agents said, lead onto a "beautiful courtyard" and creates a wonderfully light room.

They add: "To the right off the entrance hall is a further reception hall with a vaulted ceiling, exposed brickwork, a fantastic staircase rising to the first floor, a door and windows with shutters to the rear overlooking the canal." See more pictures of the four-bed home below.
