Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has shared another interesting casting story and how he brought Shah Rukh Khan to star in his movie Don. While SRK seemed perfect for the role. Farhan revealed in a recent podcast episode with Raj Shamani that he wasnt't his first choice.

According to him, it was Hrithik Roshan whom he kept in mind when he came up with the idea of remaking Amitabh Bachchan's 1978 film. Farhan revealed that he approached Hrithik first for the movie, to which he agreed. But his mind changed as his script was coming to life.



"While writing it, the only person whose face kept popping into my head was Shah Rukh," as a result of SRK's "personality, wit, sarcastic humour," Farhan said. "I called up Hrithik and I told him that I have been writing the film and I am just feeling more and more that I should reach out to Shah Rukh. He said 'Farhan, you have to make your film, you have to make it the way you want to make it and if you are feeling he is the guy, please go ahead and call him, don’t worry about me," Farhan recalled calling it a very gracious thing.

Farhan is currently working on Don 3 starring Ranveer Singh . Speaking more on Shah Rukh, the filmmaker revealed what makes SRK, SRK.

Calling him "exceptionally charming and knowledgable," Farhan revealed that Shah Rukh reads a lot. "He can talk about any topic and he will have his point of view on that. He is a good listener.

He is well read and he is also interested in people...
