FARGO — In an effort to encourage community members to stay up to date with important preventative screenings and recommended immunizations as flu season begins, Fargo Cass Public Health has scheduled a "Fall Health Blitz" from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct.

18. The event will feature a breast and cervical cancer screening program during which participants will be able to take part in eligibility screening for Women’s Way, an early cancer detection program run by North Dakota Health and Human Services. Flu shots will also be available on a walk-in basis for everyone age six-months or older, including high-dose vaccines for those age 65 and up.

Blood pressure checks, COVID-19 boosters, free Narcan kits and training, and family planning and tobacco cessation resources will also be available. The "Fall Health Blitz" will take place at Fargo Cass Public Health, 1240 25th St. S.

Community members should bring their health insurance or Medicaid information, though no one will be turned away for not having insurance, according to a news release from FCPH..
