Amazon Prime have released the first look at the series Yakauza: Like A Dragon coming to the streaming platform later this month. Based on the Sega published video game franchise, Like A Dragon is a Japanese action drama that explores the dark world of the yakuza. It will explore themes of family, not only through blood relations but ties between yakuza bosses and their underlings as well as orphans, mentors and students, The show's synopsis says that the episodes will explore two different timelines, in 1995 and 2005.

In 1995, eager to escape their restrictive lives, Kiryu and his friends, Nishiki, Yumi, and Miho plan a heist at a local arcade. However, the arcade is under the control of the Dojima Family, a powerful yakuza organization that rules Kamurocho and the group dive deep into this dark underworld. Meanwhile, in 2005, Kiryu is set to be released from prison but learns from Detective Date that his friends are in danger and decides to return to Kamurocho to protect them.



However, their friendship has deteriorated, as tensions between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance are at a boiling point. Fans have shared their excitement at getting a glimpse at the video game characters being adapted for the screen.
