RTE star Kathryn Thomas looked like an "angel" as she posed in her extravagant Rose of Tralee outfit. The hit show returned this week with Kathryn and Daithi O Se taking to the stage to welcome each Rose to the competition. On Monday night, 18 our of the 32 Roses put their best foot forward, with women from places as far as North Carolina and Ohio.

Kathryn took to Instagram after the first night on stage to show off her stunning look. The Carlow native wore a stunning dress that she got from the Irish designer Helen Cody. The beige ballgown had mesh puffy sleeves and dragonflies printed on the frock.



She paired the little number with gold sandal heels and gold jewellery. Kathryn finished off her look by putting her blonde luscious locks into a tight high bun. The former Operation Transformation host captioned her post: "Night one.

" Kathryn's friends and fans all adored her look and flooded the comment section with compliments. Ursula said: "Loved all your dresses..

. you looked amazing." Jess commented: "Absolutely beautiful.

" Maura wrote: "Kathryn you look amazing on the Rose of Tralee. Your dresses are amazing." Helen remarked: "Angel!!!" The remaining 14 contestants showcased their talents last night in the final in a bid to be crowned the Rose of Tralee .

In the end, Daithi announced that the New Zealand Rose, Keely O'Grady, won the votes and was crowned this year's Rose Of Tralee . The Speech and Language Therapy student at Canterbury University couldn't believe she won the 64th Rose of Tralee Festival. The six-time Irish dancing champion smiled from ear-to-ear and said: "I can't really put it into words.

There isn't a word to describe it. I'm shaking so much right now." Kathryn told her: "You have been such a trooper, you've been such great craic and keeping everyone in great form.

"You represent your country so well and you're going to be an incredible Rose." Keely revealed: "I'm looking forward to doing this for my country as an international Rose and as someone from New Zealand. "We've only had ten Roses, the last time was in 1998.

It does really mean a lot to me tonight to be crowned as the Rose of Tralee.".
