A bust-up at the women’s beach volleyball threatened to boil over, before the DJ stepped in to diffuse the situation. That’s because he had the perfect song choice that even had the athletes smiling. Canada and Brazil faced off under the Eiffel Tower for an Olympic gold medal - and emotions were clearly running high.

Some heated words were exchanged across the net between Canada’s Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson, and Brazil’s Ana Patricia Ramos and Duda Lisboa. Despite the best efforts of the referee, tempers continued to flare - that is when the DJ stepped in. The legend on the decks started playing Imagine by John Legend over the speakers.



This straight away eased the tension as fans started joining in with the famous peace anthem. The athletes themselves started smiling and even applauded the DJ for what he did. Fans were in stitches at the DJ’s efforts, with one writing on X: “Brilliant.

Hats off the to DJ - pure class.” Another said: “Give the DJ a gold.” A third wrote: “What a beautiful moment.

” Wilkerson later said: "We're pretty amped up, partners are coming in, refs are coming in. So it was a bit of a mess. Players at the beach volleyball started arguing so the DJ played Imagine by John Lennon 😅 #Paris2024 #Olympics pic.
