The entire collection from a jeweller in Edinburgh is set to go under the hammer after the owner retired. Joseph Bonnar has been a renowned jeweller in the capital for more than 50 years and is highly regarded for his expertise in antique and period jewellery. Every piece of his collection will go up for sale at Fellows Auctioneers later this month, though, after he announced his retirement.

His shop on Thistle Street has been celebrated locally and international with collectors and enthusiasts visiting it for decades. Mr Bonnar’s knowledge of important gemstones and his role in making antique jewellery fashionable has helped his reputation in the industry. He has had unique finds including a shoebox full of jets with ties to Balmoral, and attracted of Harper’s Bazaar.
