Friday, October 4, 2024 Today marks the launch of the 2024 International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition at the Saudi Falcons Club in Riyadh, initiating a ten-day celebration of falconry and hunting traditions. This event gathers over 400 exhibitors from 45 countries to highlight Saudi Arabia’s falconry and hunting customs alongside contemporary innovations. “The exhibition introduces a novel approach to celebrating and passing down our cultural heritage to the youth,” commented Waleed Al-Taweel, the spokesperson for the Saudi Falcons Club.
Al-Taweel emphasized the enduring significance of falconry in Saudi culture as a symbol of valor and dignity, aiming to foster a deep appreciation and understanding of this age-old practice among both local and global audiences. Spanning 160,000 square meters, the exhibition offers an array of activities from falcon care and breeding workshops to displays of the latest falconry equipment, camping gear, and outdoor vehicles, including motorcycles and 4x4s. This year’s program includes the Future Falconer initiative, an educational endeavor engaging children with hands-on activities.
Attendees will also discover a diverse lineup of experiences such as the wild cooking zone, Shalayel Digital Museum showcasing falcon lore, and areas dedicated to photography, live art, and local crafts.
