Monday, October 7, 2024 The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) is set to make a significant impact at the 24th World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit in Perth (Boorloo), Western Australia from October 8-10, 2024. Leading the delegation is Deputy Prime Minister I. Chester Cooper , emphasizing The Bahamas’ dedication to enhancing global tourism and investment opportunities.
At this year’s summit, BMOTIA aims to highlight The Bahamas as a premier travel destination, showcasing the 16-Island brand , recent developments, and unique visitor experiences. They are also promoting growth opportunities for the year ahead, with a focus on increasing airlift from the UK. From January to August 2024, The Bahamas saw 26,291 UK visitors, up 72.
3% from the same period in 2023. “Attending the WTTC Global Summit is vital for strengthening partnerships with global travel advisors and increasing tourism to The Bahamas,” said Deputy Prime Minister I. Chester Cooper .
“Direct engagement with industry leaders enables us to showcase our unique offerings and collaborate on strategies to attract more visitors. Together, we can inspire exploration and showcase the beauty and culture of our islands.” On October 9 , DPM Cooper will participate in the session titled “Easy but Secure,” discussing the balance between technology, safety, and security in welcoming tourists.
The session will explore how complex border processes can create barriers to travel.
