Pune: The Pune division of MSRTC on Thursday operated around 100 additional buses to Kolhapur to ensure that passengers did not face any hassles because of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana event . "There has been no information about people going from Pune to Kolhapur facing any problems. Close to 137 buses operate daily between Pune and Kolhapur," Pramod Nehul, the Pune divisional controller of MSRTC, said.
More than 700 MSRTC buses were pressed into service to transport beneficiaries of Ladki Bahin Yojana to an event in Kolhapur, in which the chief minister and the two deputy chief ministers participated. This had led to a severe bus shortage from Kolhapur to different places in the state. Another MSRTC official said more buses would be released for the route if needed.
